Relaxation Massage

Massage therapy benefits people of all ages! Using the hands on (Swedish) relaxation techniques we can work on promoting full body wellness. Massage therapy can increase circulation, improve sleep, relieve tension, relieve anxiety, reduce stress, and promote relaxation throughout the body. Not only can it help relieving chronic pain, stress and injuries; but it benefits also become preventative towards future injuries, conditions and illnesses.

Therapeutic/Deep Tissue Massage

Therapeutic and deep tissue massage is a variation of massage that is used to reduce stress, relieve pain and focus more on a specific problem within the body. Many times therapeutic and deep tissue massage are confused with deep pressure (although some techniques acquire more pressure or people prefer more pressure in general), that is not always the case. Generally working past the superficial connective tissue and getting into the deeper layers where we deal with adhesions or “knots”, trigger points which may cause uncontrollable muscle spasms and referred pain to different parts of the body, chronic muscle tension to help improve range of motion and overall wellness.

TMJD MASSAGE

TMJD or Temporomandibular joint disorder - that horrible pain from your jaw clicking and clenching from muscles that are imbalanced and overly tight. Other symptoms can be tension headaches and even migraines. This can be caused by many things such as: high stress, muscle tension and stress through the face, neck, and shoulders . Not only are we massaging the external extremities; we take this time to introduce intraoral massage as well, using latex gloves to massage muscles inside the mouth directly linked to the TMJ.

THE GRASTON TECHNIQUE

The Graston Technique is a patented form of instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM). Combined with traditional massage, the graston technique allows the therapist to effectively assess and address fascial restrictions, scar tissue/adhesions, and soft tissue lesions. This type of treatment can cause some discomfort, but should never be intense pain. There are chances of bruising and red skin appearing, although that is not necessary for it to be an effective treatment. Along with treating the scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and soft tissue lesions; the graston technique increases the circulation areas to promote that healing factor leading to increased range of motion, decreased pain and overall wellness.

Cupping Massage

Cupping is an ancient healing art that is regaining popularity in the western world. Cupping can be used to help with pain and inflammation, increase the circulation, help rejuvenate the skin and providing a relaxing feeling overall.Due to the negative pressure created by the cups it acts as a great tool to help break down the fascial restrictions and adhesions creating increased range of motion. It clears the pores and surface toxins, while bringing deeper toxins and stagnate old blood from the deep tissues. The marks you see are referred to as the “Cup Kiss” and will dissipate usually within 7 to 10 days.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage is a great way relax, reduce stress, and address any pain or tension in the body. It is safe to receive prenatal massage, although we always ask you to check with your doctor before hand to make sure there are no contraindications towards the massage. During this massage you can lay on your stomach in the early stages, but as things progress treatments will change to a side lying position and when on your back you will be more elevated to provide comfort. Prenatal massage can help with improved circulation, reduced back and joint pain, swelling, muscle tension, headaches, better sleep, and overall wellness.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel - practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Manual Osteopathy

Manual osteopathy is a complementary form of body work healing. It focuses on the interrelationship between the structure and function of the body. The objective is to work towards full body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework. This includes the muscles, joints, and the spine. We aim to positively affect the body’s circulatory, nervous, and lymphatic systems. Using subtle palpation techniques, a manual osteo therapist helps restore function in the body by treating the root cause of imbalance and pain.
